How to Prevent Condensation, Damp and Mould with Positive Input Ventilation

How to Prevent Condensation, Damp and Mould with Positive Input Ventilation

Modern Life... Saving energy, deterring burglars, keeping the heat in... There are plenty of reasons why our houses are poorly ventilated nowadays. Air quality is often overlooked with regards to our health, safety and the longevity of our home furnishings. But it can impact negatively on both your home, and its inhabitants.

  • Condensation - caused by baths, showers, cooking and drying clothes. You can't see the condensation until it settles on a cold surface, like a window or mirror. It is estimated that one person can create up to four pints of moisture in a single day
  • Radon - a naturally occurring colourless and odourless radioactive gas. Entering homes through the ground, over 100,000 homes are being exposed to higher than safe levels of radon
  • Dust Mites - thrive on the warm and humid environment in the poorly ventilated home. Repeated exposure to dust mites has been known to trigger and aggravate conditions like asthma, eczema, conjunctivitis and rhinitis. Asthma in particular can be seriously affected by dust mites, humidity and mould, which can all be controlled by adequate ventilation
condensation - Positive Input Ventilation Condensation... the enemy.

Condensation and mould are a common consequence of our modern lifestyles. Leaving our homes unprotected is detrimental to our health, causes musty smells, mould growth on walls, and can even cause clothes to become damp and mouldy. It can cause a lot of moneys worth of redecoration and replacement, not to mention prescription charges. Plus, no one likes the damp, uncomfortable feeling of a humid home, the dripping bathroom ceiling, or accidentally leaning on a condensation soaked window. And mould - nobody wants to see that in their home.

Positive Input Ventilation

Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) gently supplies fresh and filtered air into a home. Moisture filled air is continuously diluted, displaced and replaced with good quality air. This will reduce or eliminate condensation and prevent external pollutants and allergens from getting in, as well as filtering out harmful radon and carbon monoxide. Leaving you with a significantly healthier, drier, and happier home.
