RCCBs are designed to open a circuit in the event of an earth fault between phase and earth, and/or neutral and earth. All RCCB circuit breakers can be padlocked on or off and have trip-free mechanisms. Positive contact is indicated by a rectangular flag indicator (red indicates closed, green indicates open). Tripping is indicated an oval flag indicator (yellow).
